UK advisory Savills has bolstered its London-based specialist industrial and logistics planning team with an Associate Director. Alex Cole joins from DWD, where he was an Associate.

The UK’s real estate market faces a complicated outlook in 2022. Having initially anticipated growth, along with the rest of the economy, the sector is having to adapt to tightening economic circumstances amid heightened inflation and uncertainty. As such, many players are turning to professional services firms for support navigating these challenges.

Savills is a global real estate services provider with a network of more than 39,000 people in over 600 offices across the Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific, Africa and the Middle East. Headquartered in London, the advisory firm supports corporate, institutional and private clients who are seeking to acquire, lease, develop or realise the value of residential and commercial property in the world’s key locations.

Alex Cole, Associate Director, Savills

Alex Cole arrives at Savills from another planning consultancy where he has operated in the industrial and logistics sector. In his six years with DWD, his planning work included managing instructions for Amazon across its range of warehouse platforms including last mile logistics facilities and appraisal work as part of Amazon’s site identification strategy.

Commenting on his new role, Cole noted, “I am delighted to be joining the Savills planning team at such an interesting time for the I&L sector.  My background, particularly in last mile logistics, means I am well placed to advise clients and I look forward to working with the wider I&L team across the business.”

Cole joins Savills’ planning team, specialising in the industrial and logistics sector, led in London by Nick Green and John Bowles. The team operates in London and the South East with additional expertise led by colleagues in key regional areas including the Midlands and the North.

Green said of the new arrival, “The industrial and logistics sector is an important focus for us and the team advises some of the most active players in the market. Alex’s appointment will add to the planning division’s capabilities to identify opportunities and provide market facing solutions.”
