Interpath Advisory has promoted Nathan McCarthy and Steve Bunn as managing directors. The pair of appointments occur as the firm continues to invest in its senior talent across its rapidly-growing business.

Interpath has grown rapidly over the past 18 months, having started life as a carve-out from KPMG’s pensions wing. In the time since, it has grown from 43 managing directors and 507 staff to a team of 57 managing directors and circa 620 staff in the UK. Steve Bunn works in Interpath’s transaction services team, and Nathan McCarthy, is a member of the firm’s value creation team.

Bunn has brings more than 17 years of deal advisory and restructuring experience to the role, having worked in London and the Midlands across transaction services and restructuring teams at KPMG and Interpath. In this time, he performed numerous advisory roles, including IBRs, turnarounds, vendor assist, due diligence and managed exit assignments.

Since November 2021, Bunn has led on 15 transactions across a range of sectors for Interpath. This includes deals ranging in size from £5 million to £120 million, where he has earned a reputation for the unique and commercially focused approach he has brought to financial due diligence. He has also played a pivotal role in developing the transaction services team across the UK, which has laid a solid platform for continued growth.

McCarthy meanwhile is a seasoned professional in value creation. Prior to Interpath’s independence, he was with KPMG’s value creation team since 2012. In that time, he has been involved with and led many of the firm’s largest value creation projects, working across every continent and touching almost every sector.

Spending the majority of his time working with PE-backed businesses, McCarthy directly supports management teams to unlock value across all stages of the deal cycle. With a wealth of experience across cash and working capital, he will continue to focus on value creation going forward and will play a key role in driving Interpath’s business forward at an exciting point in its growth journey.
